cpfwlog-1.1.0
20100430

This package is part of the Check Point Firewall Loggrabber project hosted at http://www.altsec.info

The database server previewed in the project was built with Debian Lenny (5.0), which is obtained here:

http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/

The relevant links explaining the use of these binaries is located at:

Full instructions for building the database server are in the document:

These binaries are intended to help you get started with a pre-compiled binary release of the fw1-loggrabber executable.

My apologies for the clunky way of getting the 32-bit libraries packaged for a 64-bit loggrabber platform. Please offer any suggestions for a better approach. Contributing some time for the project would be most welcomed as well.

Hopefully, I'll have time to script a better method for adding 32-bit fw1-loggrabber capabilities for a 64-bit platform, which is the best choice for the database server.

UPGRADING: If you are already running on the cpfwlog 1.0.0 version of the library package for this project, the only change is the mysqlclient library. In that event, you can simply change to the cpfwlog-1.1.0/lib32 directory and "cp -pP mysqlclient* /lib32". If you are installing a new loggrabber package, continue with the following instructions.

NOTICE: when copying the lib32 files to the /lib32 directory, be sure to use "cp -P" to preserve the symlinks. The 'isql32' binary executable is simply the original isql program from the 32-bit server that was used to develop fw1-loggrabber for this project. It should be copied to a directory in your path, such as /usr/local/bin. Remember, if you built your 64-bit database server as per the project documentation, you will have a 64-bit version of isql as well. That is why the 32-bit version was renamed isql32.

Good luck.
